Teen Blogger Posts Introduction!
Posted by admin on January 15, 2008
While I have been surfing the internet, over the last few years, months, weeks, days, I have come across a few young internet marketing entrepreneurs, some just like me, and some on a much larger scale than I am!
And I can only hope that in a few years, I can, and will be, like them.
One major difference between them and I, is that they have probably been using and learning the web in school, since they have been extremely young, while I have only started using the web, since I was around 13 years old.
There are many critique on these kids, saying that they are ruining their adolescence, but in my opinion, maybe since I am also a teen, is that as long as they have a structured life, have a good education, as well as having fun, it is ok.
I recently read a blog post, written by an educator, he discusses the positive and negative of young kid bloggers, and why parents don’t allow their children to blog, I happen to agree on many of his points, and will address my personal opinion regarding this article.
Here is a clipping of his positive article, on blogging;
“As a writer myself, I’m a big fan of blogging. So logically, I support student bloggers. You’ll see how publishing a blog can really give a kid a boost. I’ve even used blogs in my classroom from time to time. I’m always encouraging writing, and I see blogging as a great way to enhance a budding writer’s experience. Because there is an element of publishing involved (meaning it is available for others to read), blogging can nudge students to study and improve their personal mastery of the craft of writing”
Now he discuses the point of parents not allowing their children blogging;
–especially parents who are involved and obviously trying to protect their children.
And with stories like the following, I really can’t blame parents for putting the lid on a child’s internet use. Consider the following real headlines.
“Girl, 13 Murdered by Man from Internet Chatroom”
“Officials focus on Internet use in sex crimes”
“13-Year-Old Rape Victim Met Attacker Online”
Yeah, I know–Yikes!
Further on he discusses how to prevent theses things and gives some parent blogger tips. Here is the link of his blog post!
I brought down this article to discuss the reason why some parents may not “let” their young kids blog. To some extent, I agree on his points of not letting, but I mostly agree on his points of letting them.
Now,His article seems to be on young kids “Blogging” but not Teens Blogging for money, and doing Affiliate Marketing.
Personally Older teens who want a shot at blogging, and internet marketing may not be that all bad of an idea and it’s worth the opportunity in my eyes.
Yeah I think it’s better than wasting their important brain cells, on social networking site (my father’s words).
And at least while their sitting on the web, they are accomplishing!
And in the future, these are the posts I would like to write up about; Teens trying to accomplish things, and succeeding in their work, how they do it, how they started, and why they think it should, could, and would be doing well, by working on the internet, blogging, affiliate marketing, etc.
At first I would like to discuss people that I know of who have started working online, and have been successful, and then what their motivation was, and is.
I would like to discuss a few of these teens, but in a few different posts. I’m not sure if these teens allow me speaking of them, but I don’t really care.
So I guess ill start tomorrow with the first and so on and so fourth!!
So see you tomorrow!
Good Night,
All-in-it
